The Top Management Team



Charles Stabell, Chairman of the Board and Director Strategic Development is a Co-Founder of GeoKnowledge. He was the Managing Director from 1992 to 2009. Prior to and during the start up of the company, Charles was a professor in Strategy at the Norwegian School of Management. He has also been on the faculty of the Graduate School of Business, Stanford University as well as on the faculty of the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration. Charles has a Ph.D from MIT, an MBA from McGill University and a B.Eng from L'Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Electronique et de Radioélectricité de Grenoble, France.   Board member since 1985.

Per Audun Hole, CEO, has been with GeoKnowledge since 2004. He started his career as an exploration geologist in Statoil in 1986 and over the next 12 years filled various technical and management positions in production and field development. Joined Aker Geo in 1998, where he worked as senior consultant and VP business development. Per Audun has an MSc in Geology from UiB.

Silvija Seres, Board Member (since 2008), is now Director of Business Management, at FAST Microsoft. Prior to that she was VP of Product Marketing at FAST. Silvija has a PhD and MA in Mathematical Sciences from Oxford University, an MBA from INSEAD and a MSc and BSc in Computer Science from UiO.  

Richard Sinding-Larsen, Board Member and Co-Founder of GeoKnowledge, is a professor of resource geology at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). Richard has advised extensively on play assessment to government agencies both in Norway and in South East Asia. He has been Secretary General of the IUGS (International Union of Geological Sciences) and is currently Senior Advisor and responsible for the non-renewable resources part of the UN-IUGS initiative on Planet Earth.  Richard has a MSc in Applied Geology and a PhD in Resource Geology, both from NTNU.   Board member since 1985.

Erik Langaker, Board Member (since 2005), is a serial entrepreneur. In the last 15 years he has founded/co-founded and acted as Chairman in a number of technology companies, the most important being the Payex Group, Policom, Viken Fibernett, Validsign, and IDEKapital. Prior to that he was an early funder/investor in Delphi Economics and Hitec Industries. Through the Vestland Group he is now also actively involved in investments; among current core holdings is Storm Weather Centre AS, a company that does risk management for the energy industry.  

Sverre Munck, Board Member, is Executive Vice President in the Scandinavian media group Schibsted. He joined Schibsted as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in 1994 and became Executive Vice President in charge of Multimedia in 1998. Sverre was previously a director of Loki AS and a consultant with McKinsey & Co. He holds a Ph.D in Energy Economics from Stanford University and a B.A. degree from Yale University. He has been on the GeoKnowledge Board since 2001, most recently as Chairman of the Board from 2002 to 2009.
